My name is Bill E. Gates Jr., and I am running for Governor of Minnesota as a Democrat, challenging Tim Walz.

My vision for Minnesota’s future is bold, practical, and long overdue: the eventual end of tax collection as we know it. Instead of endlessly reaching into the pockets of working families, I believe the State of Minnesota should invest in its own business ventures, participate responsibly in the free market, and use those profits to fund essential government services.

For too long, state government has been run like a permanent fundraiser—always asking for more, always raising rates, always promising relief “next time.” Minnesotans deserve better than a government that survives by billing its own people year after year.

Minnesota was built by people who understood stewardship, self-reliance, and making something that lasts. Government should operate the same way. By running the state with transparency, accountability, and a business-minded approach, we can create a self-sustaining public economy that reduces—and ultimately eliminates—the need to tax the very people we are meant to serve.

The goal is simple and commonsense: let Minnesotans keep more of what they earn, make true homeownership possible without perpetual taxation, and finally deliver a government that funds itself instead of forever sending the bill to its citizens.
